Doctors appear to be causing tens of thousands of cancers with CT scans
and dentists may be causing a few brain tumors with dental X-rays (see
my last two videos Cancer Risk from CT Scan Radiation and Do Dental X-Rays Cause Brain Tumors?),
but what about these new-fangled airport full-body scanners that use
so-called backscatter technology to reduce X-ray exposure? A thousand
times less radiation exposure than a chest X-ray, though they’re still
being phased out. In fact, flight passengers may get 100 times
more radiation during the flight every hour, because they’re so high up
in the atmosphere and exposed to more cosmic rays. Does that mean a
round-trip cross-country flight is almost like getting a chest X-ray?
Yes. Anyone who’s seen my speaking schedule knows I’m totally screwed. But what can you do? As is the answer to so many health questions, you can eat healthily.

Nuked Radio Special: Nuked in the skies w/ Leuren Moret part 1
10 celebrities displaying symptoms of possible radiation sickness after excessive flying. Historically, some famous actors and actresses have been nuked before...so it wouldn't be the first time.
Program recorded March 25th, 2013.
Air date March 29th, 2013.

8/24/2011 Japan Triples Airborne Radiation Checks as ‘Hot Spots’ Spread
Source: Bloomberg
Date: Aug 24, 2011 12:25 AM CT
by: Tsuyoshi Inajima and Yuji Okada
Japan will more than triple the number of regions it checks for airborne radiation as more contaminated “hot spots” are discovered far from Tokyo Electric Power Co.’s crippled Fukushima nuclear power station.
The government said it will increase radiation monitoring by helicopter to 22 prefectures from the six closest to the plant, which began spewing radiation after an earthquake and tsunami struck the station in March. The plan comes after radioactive waste more than double the regulatory limit was found 200 kilometers (125 miles) from the plant this week.
Authorities have refused to give a cumulative figure for radiation released from the Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear plant after estimating in June that fallout in the six days following the quake was equal to 15 percent of total radiation released in the Chernobyl nuclear disaster in 1986. The authorities have been too slow to widen airborne radiation testing, said Tetsuo Ito, the head of Kinki University’s Atomic Energy Research Institute in Osaka.
“The government should have expanded the monitoring area by helicopters much earlier to ease concerns among the public,” Ito said in a telephone interview yesterday.
Officials on Aug. 12 found compost in a kindergarten yard in Tokamachi city, Niigata prefecture containing radioactive cesium measuring 27,000 becquerels per kilogram, Kenichiro Kasuga, an official at the city’s disaster prevention department, said by phone.

5/29/2011 | (VIDEO) Fukushima Day 80 **PROOF** of HIGH RADIATION levels during airflight...UP to 350 CPM!
Source: connectingdots1 YouTube channel
Date: 5/29/2011 upload date
From careful analysis of this video, the CPM (counts per minute) of the radiation meter (which appears to be a Radiation Alert 4 series analog Geiger counter, although the exact model number is obscured by the watch) does indeed rise to as high as about 350 CPM. The button on the right of the meter is set to X1 which means that reading the meter is straightforwards and doesn't require any multiplication of the meter's scale. 350 CPM corresponds to .35 mR/hr based on the scale on the bottom which goes from .1 mR/hr to .5 mR/hr. This is equivalent to 3.5 μSv/hr. To put this in to perspective, there is only one independent Ustream radiation meter I have noticed which gets in to whole numbered μSv/hr which is the meter in Iitate Village, Fukushima prefecture, Japan: the GM-Fukushima meter. The GM-Fukushima Ustream meter is positioned at a cafe in the open air outside. The other two Fukushima prefecture meters on Ustream do not exceed .5 μSv/hr (so far) and are indoors. For all three Ustream Fukushima prefecture meters on the same page, click on Fukushima/Ibaraki in the top navigation bar.
