Redlands, California
One of the members of my Glowing Conversations radiation group posted the results of some manure he bought from the hardware store for a home garden. Luckily he measured the manure first with his Geiger counter. Normally, this meter is only 25 CPM or so when measuring background radiation. As you can see from the video, the 10 minute average is 240 CPM or 247.5 CPM or about 10x an assumed background level of 25 CPM.

6/24/2011 | Counts near 100 CPM (5x background) at Driggs, Idaho Ustream Geiger counter
Source: CerebralProgrammer Ustream channel as recorded on YouTube
Date: Recording started June 24, 2011 12:41:53 AM CST
Per the Geiger counter's owner (CerebralProgrammer) 20 CPM (counts per minute) is the normal background radiation level. I first noticed an unusually high reading last night at about midnight CST. Tonight I have recorded a 2 minute or so sampling of high readings where 100 CPM is touched or exceeded, or 5x background.
