BRAIN IMAGES (CT, PET and PET+CT) of my F-18 fluorodopa PET/CT.
video of the scan procedure: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7378ElgP5hI
i was injected with 200 MBq F-18, a radioactive isotope of fluorine, in the chemical form F-18-DOPA.
200 MBq means 200 million decays, resulting in 400 million gamma rays (annihilation photons) every SECOND.
this again resulted in an acute dose of about 5 mSv (including the 0.5 mSv CT scan prior to the PET scan) to me.
this was a scientific study (ethics-commission approved) to study the mechanisms of learning.
studies like this are performed on healthy test subjects on a daily basis.
i'm curious to hear your opinion on the matter...
Editor's Note: See the first video here where bionerd23 injects the radioactive dopamine tracer.

Dr. Busby describes measurements made on an airconditing unit filter from inside an apartment in central Tokyo. This was sent by a lady in Tokyo who wanted to know if it was safe to live there. The filter only collected air from inside the apartment. It shows the presence of 130000Bq/kg radioCaesium in the dust plus enriched Uranium and for the first time Lead-210/Polonium-210. The apartment was evacuated from the Tuesday after the catastrophe and the machine switched off; and the family returned 5 months later. This and much other information about the health effects and cover ups, including leaked data are to be found in Dr Busby's new book in Japanese: the Horror of Fukushima, published on 25th July by Kodansha in Tokyo

7/22/2012 Fukushima contractor forced workers to fake radiation readings — RT
Source: Russia Today
Date: 22 July, 2012, 01:32
A company charged with decontaminating the devastated Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant encouraged its workers to falsely lower their radiation dosimeter readings by covering the devices with lead, according to a leaked tape of an internal meeting.
Nuclear plant workers are not allowed to be exposed to more than 50 millisieverts of radiation a year. But managers at Build-up, a company that provided insulation on the pipes that would pump irradiated water out of the plant, believed that doses experienced inside the plant, which suffered a meltdown, meant workers would quickly reach their limit.

7/23/2012 Fukushima: The FINAL REPORT~What Went Wrong? Everything!

Video Description
Government panel issues Fukushima accident report (READ WHAT THEY DID NOT REPORT IN THE VIDEO ABOUT FUKUSHIMA DAINI (NOT DAIICHI - DAINI)
http://www3.nhk.or.jp/daily/english/20120723_22.html
A government panel investigating the nuclear accident at the Fukushima Daiichi plant says the operator of the plant lacked a sense of crisis and imagination for possible tsunami. It says Tokyo Electric Power Company should realize that Japan is prone to natural disasters and change its attitude toward disaster-preparedness.
The panel of government-appointed experts submitted its final report on Monday.
The report criticized the way the utility handled the accident at the Daiichi plant.
It compared the Daiichi plant with another nearby plant, the Fukushima Daini plant, which avoided a nuclear accident although its reactors were also hit by tsunami.
It says workers at the Daini plant kept monitoring the pressure and temperature of the reactor containment vessels, and prepared for alternative ways to inject water.
The panel also examined whether it was appropriate for the Prime Minister at the time, Naoto Kan, to discuss with TEPCO officials whether to inject seawater into the reactors to prevent them from reaching criticality again.
It determined that the government should not have intervened in the matter before the power company had made a decision.
The report also points out that TEPCO had urged a government taskforce on earthquake research to change its wording about a powerful earthquake that hit northeastern Japan 1,100 years ago.
TEPCO said the report could be interpreted as meaning the area was regularly hit by strong earthquakes.
The report says the utility's lack of a sense of crisis was one of the main reasons behind the accident.
The panel is urging the government to continue its probe. It says the cause of the accident has not been fully disclosed.
Apart from the government, private-sector experts and the Diet have also released their own reports on the nuclear accident.

Video Description
This video was uploaded from an Android phone. Detroit-area antique
store near Eastern Market, shot July 21, 2012. Uranium or "Vaseline
Glass" is pretty common in antique stores. I'm guessing this is a higher
uranium content than most, because I've checked glass like this before
and never got such a reading!
Uranium glass is glass which has had uranium, usually in oxide diuranate form, added to a glass mix before melting. The proportion usually varies from trace levels to about 2% by weight uranium, although some 19th-century pieces were made with up to 25% uranium.[1][2]
The normal colour of uranium glass ranges from yellow to green depending on the oxidation state and concentration of the metal ions, although this may be altered by the addition of other elements as glass colourants. Uranium glass also fluoresces bright green under ultraviolet light and can register above background radiation on a sufficiently sensitive Geiger counter, although most pieces of uranium glass are considered to be harmless and only negligibly radioactive...except this peice apparently, jeez.
Uranium glass was once made into tableware and household items, but fell out of widespread use when the availability of uranium to most industries was sharply curtailed during the Cold War in the 1940s to 1990s. Most such objects are now considered antiques or retro-era collectibles, although there has been a minor revival in art glassware. Otherwise, modern uranium glass is now mainly limited to small objects like beads or marbles as scientific or decorative novelties.
You can see many "Vaseline Glass" examples on Ebay. To spot it in a store look for the greenish-yellow color. Its usually labelled as such, and a bit pricey. I wouldnt recommend eating off of it :/

7/18/2012 Electrical disturbance causes scram at Limerick nuclear plant - pottsmerc.com

Date: 7/18/2012
(Updated at 2:35 p.m.) LIMERICK — An electrical disturbance in a “non-nuclear” part of Limerick Generating Station caused a disruption requiring the shut down of the Unit 1 reactor Wednesday morning.
The disturbance “caused a loss of power to generator cooling equipment” requiring a manual scram, or shutdown, of the reactor around 8:15 a.m., according to Dana Melia, communications manager at the nuclear plant, “A manual scram occurs when the plant’s control room operators insert all of the control rods into the reactor at once, halting the fissioning process and shutting down the reactor,” explained Neil Sheehan of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

In 10 Years, Peak Cesium Levels Off West Coast Could Be 10 Times Higher Than at Coast of Japan
We’ve extensively documented the fact that ocean currents bring Japanese radiation to the West Coast of North America, and that – rather than adequate ocean dilution - there could be “pockets” and “streams” of highly-concentrated radiation.Joke F Lübbecke of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) Pacific Marine Environmental Laboratory and 3 scientists from the GEOMAR Research Center for Marine Geosciences poured tracer dye into coastal waters off of Fukushima, and monitored its progress as it traveled to the West Coast of North America, to find out what might really happen.

The paper shows that the West Coast of North American could end up with 10 times more radioactive cesium 137 than the coastal waters off of Japan itself.

7/9/2012 [VIDEO] Fukushima: MAN MADE DISASTER (NOT Tsunami OR Earthquake) & update for last week
Source: MsMilkyTheClown
Date: 7/9/2012
Video Description
I've been out of town and my power went out before going out of town. Trying to catch up on Fukushima updates. I admit it, I didn't miss doing these updates at All. In fact, this may be my last update, just FYI, but this one was an important one to end on if I do stop my reports. I'm just about as "done" as a spent fuel rod - in a "safe" cooling pool.
A Japanese Government DIET panel investigation states that neither the Tsunami NOR the Earthquake caused the triple nuclear meltdown at Fukushima Daiichi. Lots of blame in many directions... but here's the update from July 5, 2012. Added to this video, I should have noted that Jelly Fish have invaded the intake valve in the Ohi (Oi) plant they started up last week, clogging the intake to the cooling water. *sigh*
http://enenews.com/ Headlines for the last week and a halfish.
"Radiation-contaminated prefectures such as Chiba (near Tokyo) should also start a serious health damage survey as soon as possible"
New photos of tsunami hitting Fukushima plant released by Tepco
Report: Mortality rising in contaminated regions of East Japan — "Very likely the number of cases of disease and death increased associated with radiation"
Posts mentioning 'leukemia' get deleted says Japanese man diagnosed with acute leukemia after 3/11
Study: Contaminated water from Fukushima reactors could double radioactivity levels of US coastal waters in 5 years — "We were surprised at how quickly the tracer spread" (PHOTO & VIDEO)
Documentary: We're still in danger from Reactor No. 4 because Tepco can't get their act together -Fukushima Resident (VIDEO)
Bacteria vs. Nuclear Waste: Scientists finding microorganisms may threaten storage of radioactive waste
Gundersen: Essentially Northern Japan is Contaminated (VIDEO)
Failed power supply at No. 4 fuel pool shows evidence of fire — Tepco says it's "covered with soot" (PHOTOS)
Nuclear Engineer Concerned About Unit 4 Support Structure: Is it going to just punch through the floor and through cracks? — What is the load transferred to? Something that's also flimsy? (VIDEO)
Incredibly contaminated house dust nearly 100 miles from Fukushima Daiichi — Gundersen: We're getting a lot of Japanese sending us their vacuum bags (VIDEO)
Large outbreak of jellyfish swarm Japan's only restarted nuclear plant — May delay full operation of reactor
Caldicott: "We're talking about a disaster of unbound proportions" from Fukushima Daiichi — 2.5 to 3 million deaths a possibility (VIDEO)
Gundersen: We just tested an air filter that has highest radioactivity seen in North America after Fukushima Daiichi — Found in Seattle HEPA filter used since 3/11 (VIDEO)
Watch: Police clamp down in Tokyo streets — "We're not allowed to get anywhere near protest" (VIDEO)
Gov't Report: Reactor 3 may have had second meltdown a week after first
Japanese journalist's call for evacuating children from Tokyo causing controversy
Gundersen: Latest probe at Unit 1 indicates nuclear fuel has left containment (VIDEO)
Remaining portion of Spent Fuel Pool No. 4 seen from Kyodo helicopter (PHOTOS)

7/6/2012 As Japan Says Fukushima Disaster "Man-Made & Preventable", Fears Grow for Nuclear Plants
Source: Democracy Now
Date: Friday, July 6, 2012
Video Description
DemocracyNow.org - A Japanese parliamentary inquiry has concluded last year's nuclear meltdown of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant was "a profoundly man-made disaster — that could and should have been foreseen and prevented." We speak to former nuclear industry executive Arnie Gundersen about the report and what it means for U.S. nuclear facilities, in particular the 23 with a similar design to the Fukushima plant. "There is some curious information on Fukushima Unit 1, the first one to fail," Gundersen says. "It was built by an American company, General Electric, and an American architect/engineer. It's hard for the Japanese to blame themselves when this was an all-American design ... I'm concerned that the nuclear industry in the United States will say it's a Japanese problem, and it's not."

7/3/2012 Collapse of spent fuel storage pool at Fukushima Daiichi could be worse than initial accident, says new report
Source: Bellona via TruNews

by: Charles Digges
A collapse of the already tilting reactor No 4 building at the stricken Fukushima Daiichi plant, ¬atop which sits a spent nuclear fuel storage pool containing 1,535 fuel assemblies – including 204 unused ones – would lead to a “significant global impact,”– by far topping last year’s triple meltdown at the plant, a new report says.

7/2/2012 i am radioactive! or: my PET/CT scan - F-18 DOPA (fluorodopa)
Source: bionerd23
Date: 7/2/2012
Editor's Note: I was a bit shocked when I saw this video, poor lady allowed herself to be turned in to a human guinea pig. ;'(
Video Description
my brain is now running on radioactive dopamine...
i was injected with 200 MBq F-18, a radioactive isotope of fluorine, in the chemical form F-18-DOPA.
200 MBq means 200 million decays, resulting in 400 million gamma rays (annihilation photons) every SECOND.
this again resulted in an acute dose of about 5 mSv (including the 0.5 mSv CT scan prior to the PET scan) to me.
this was a scientific study (ethics-commission approved) to study the mechanisms of learning.
studies like this are performed on healthy test subjects on a daily basis.
i'm curious to hear your opinion on the matter...
but anyway, i am not ill, i am a healthy test subject...
or: my PET CAT is chasing the radioactive LAB RAT! =)

6/30/2012 Reactor 4 Spent Fuel Pool Cooling Problems
This development looked somewhat alarming. Apparently the spent fuel pool from the Fukushima Daiichi reactor 4 building has lost cooling as of 6:25 AM EST Saturday Morning (6/30/2012) as per WSJ MarketWatch. According to TEPCO the temperature climbed at a rate of 0.26 C by late Saturday afternoon. Quoting MarketWatch:
Here is another estimate from Fukushima Diary if the spent fuel pool cooling is offline for a longer period:[...]If Tepco continues to be unable to cool the pool, the temperature could reach 65 C, which is the upper limit designated in the safety regulations, on Tuesday morning.[...]
[...]Spent fuel pool 4 contains 1535 fuel rods and there have been continued fears that a collapse of the elevated pool due to another earthquake could cause a massive release of radiation in to the environment, possibly rendering Japan uninhabitable.
Prof. Takeda [Link] estimates the coolant water of SFP4 will reach 100℃ in the evening of 7/5/2012 (Thursday).
