2/29/2012 Japanese Government Softened Tsunami Warning 8 Days Before One Hit Fukushima

Source: AllGov.com
Date: Wednesday, February 29, 2012

At the behest of nuclear power companies, government officials in Japan softened language relating to the threat of earthquake-produced tsunamis only eight days before last year’s disaster.

In early March 2011, representatives of Tokyo Electric Power Co., Tohoku Electric Power Co. and Japan Atomic Power Co. asked the secretariat of the Earthquake Research Committee to amend a draft document discussing the possibility of a huge tsunami striking the northeast part of the country.

Tokyo Radiation Level 25 Times the Fukushima Mandatory Evacuation Zone

… by  Bob Nichols

(San Francisco) Widely known Physicist Dr Paolo Scampa, the publisher of the EU AIPRI Blog and an eminent chemical physicist, announced today his latest calculations of deadly radioactivity in Tokyo itself.  Both the nuclear regulatory and media responses have been missing in action.
However, the outrageous statement of a Japanese politician pretty well sums up the level of understanding of the parasitic political class “Smile, and the radiation won’t hurt you.”

2/20/2012 (Video) Results of Fukushima's Preliminary Exposure Survey Announced: What Do 2 Experts Say?

Source: tokyobrowntabby YouTube channel
Date: 2/20/2012

Description:

Fukushima Prefecture is conducting a health survey with all its 2 million residents to estimate the amount of their external radiation exposure during the first 4 months of the accident. On February 20, the results of the preliminary survey with approximately 10,000 residents were announced.

This video shows how NHK Fukushima TV reported about the results and how 2 experts reacted to them. One is Dr. Shunichi Yamashita, Vice President of Fukushima Medical University, who played a critical role in persuading residents out of immediate evacuation by preaching safety through his many lectures in the early months of the accident. The other one is Dr. Hiroaki Koide, Research Associate at Kyoto University Research Reactor Institute, who has been fighting against nuclear power plants for nearly 40 years.

The first half of this video clip is from a NHK Fukushima TV's local news program called "HamaNaka Aizu" aired on February 20, 2012.
The second half of this video clip is from a news & information radio program called "Tanemaki Journal" aired on February 20, 2012 (this part is audio only).

2/21/2012 Iran Holds Air Defense Drills As IAEA Says Iran Blocks Access To Key Nuclear Site

by: Tyler Durden

As if the market needed another bizarro catalyst to ramp even higher courtesy of an even more pronounced drop in corporate earnings courtesy of soaring energy costs, that is just what it is about to get following news of further deterioration in the Nash equilibrium in Iran, where on one hand we learn that IAEA just pronounced Iran nuclear talks a failure (this is bad), and on the other Press TV reports that the Iran army just started a 4 day air defense exercise in a 190,000 square kilometer area in southern Iran (this is just as bad). The escalation "ball" is now in the Western court. And if Iraq is any indication, after IAEA talks "failure" (no matter how grossly manipulated by the media), the aftermath is usually always one and the same

2/13/2012 ☢ Alert ! 110 CPM in the SNOW - St. Louis, Missouri ☢ AVOID EXPOSURE ☢

Source: dutchsinse YouTube channel
Date: 9:50 pm CST 2/13/2012

Description:

update 950pm CST 2/13/2012 --

convert CPM to uS/v or mS/v here: http://www.blackcatsystems.com/GM/converting_CPM_mRhr.html

quote:

"For those who prefer to use Sieverts, 108 CPM is about 1 uSv/hr for C060, and for Cs137 it is around 120 CPM per 1 uSv/hr. "

This means my test @ 110CPM = 1 uS/v per hour. Which means 24 uS/v per day ....

24 uS/v per day X 365 days in a year = 8,760 uS/v per year !!! That is roughly 8.5 mS/v per year -- which equals about spending over an hour at chernobyl !! (that is per the PBS site below). We are coming up on one year from Fukushima -- if these levels continue it means we ALL spent over an hour at chernobyl if the levels carry on for a full year !!!!!

thats the rough math --- this is NOT good news.

how much radiation is too much? here is a chart to see:

http://www.pbs.org/wnet/need-to-know/the-daily-need/how-m...

I have done subsequent measurements OUTSIDE in the snow directly -- 73.8 CPM over 10 Minutes.. and another test at approx. 62CPM.

In total.. three tests.. 110CPM, 62CPM, and 74CPM. These are HIGH levels..

100CPM is alert level.. so the first count actually falls under "ALERT level".. second two readings fall in the "HIGH" category.

Past baseline measurements in the same spot were an average of 20-30CPM.
---

I am now (500pm CST) collecting snow for several hours -- will melt the snow -- and take tests -- also will EVAPORATE the snow and take readings on the residue.

Again.. a straight test returns a VERY high reading @ 110CPM -- these are just the preliminary tests -- I cannot leave the equipment outside in the snow for 10 minutes -- thus we must collect the sample and do extended testing.

I will be using all three geiger counters on the full tests -- once I have enough direct snowfall in the collection glass. Coming ASAP ! Tonight into tomorrow AM (2/14) -- each test takes 10 min + video processing and upload time. Will do three tests at least.

2/9/2012 (Video) Many brands of smoke detectors are radioactive

Source: firebombclipper YouTube channel
Date: 2/9/2012
by: Ray Marsalas

Description:
Feb 9th. I happened to catch a video on radiation amounts, in smoke detectors being higher than the public is lead to believe. So I thought I would check ours. I was as surprised as you will be by the numbers, and these emmit constantly in our homes. This isn't right. These should not be sold and yet they are approved by our protection agencies.

The next part I'm a little sketchy on so feel free to correct me in the comments. I'm not a science guy.
On a suggestion from a friend I re-tested the smoke alarm with a folded piece of paper between my geiger and the smoke detector. This is because Alpha rays can be blocked out by a piece of paper. My geiger read 0.35 micro-sieverts with the paper in between. Next I put a piece of 20 gauge steel in between. First I checked the steel { 0.13 micro-sieverts = normal background} Then I put the steel in between the geiger and detector. {0.30 micro-sieverts} This 0,30 micro-sieverts would have to be beta or gamma. If you know...pass it on....below.

Sorry I couldn't film all 3 tests but the info is all here. I don't have to be a genius to realize these smoke alarms are poison. I have read that there are non-radioactive smoke detectors so if you must have one, make sure it's not one of these jobs. The store manager will be getting a visit and I will bring my geiger. Four times background is ridiculous. Also there seems to be no plan anywhere {NRC included} to dispose of these properly. They either go into landfills or get incinerated, and I read that the nasty stuff {Americum} in them, has a half-life of 450 years. Consider this a "Heads up" These should have a big skull and crossbones on the package.

Each measurement was done for 10 minutes — using three geiger counters.  Two inspector alert geiger counters — and one CDV-700 (civil defense) geiger counter w/ wand.
This mean each 10 minute video counts for THREE actual counts (there are two separate digital meters running simultaneously, and one analog).

Throughout the world, nuclear oversight has been compromised by the revolving door and cozy relationship between the nuclear industry and the so-called nuclear regulators who promote nuclear power rather than regulate.
