6/8/2011 JST | Bangladeshis donate 10% of monthly pay to Japan's quake victims

MIYAZAKI — A group of Bangladeshis has contributed 10% of their monthly pay to raise funds for Japan’s earthquake victims, saying it is their way of giving back thanks to Japan which has frequently helped the South Asian country in times of natural disasters. The donation of about 60,000 yen has been sent to a group supporting the disabled in Ofunato, Iwate Prefecture, one of the areas hardest hit by the March quake and tsunami, with words of encouragement.

Nuclear fuel in three reactors at the Fukushima No. 1 nuclear plant has possibly melted through pressure vessels and accumulated at the bottom of outer containment vessels, according to a government report obtained Tuesday by The Yomiuri Shimbun.

Better late than never I suppose, but obviously the true seriousness of the situation at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant has been concealed for months, with information being withheld from the public by both TEPCO and the Japanese government. Finally CNN has Arnie Gundersen on to discuss the very real and serious dangers of radiation, including "hot particles".
